It has partnered with numerous government agencies, National and International NGOs as well as UN Agencies in the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of programmes and activities aimed at improving the lives of rural and urban communities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Short-Term Technical Assistant (STTA), Facilitation for Training of Trainers of Vocational Training Centers on Disability Inclusion

Locations: Bade, Nguru and Nangere, Yobe

Program Description

TCDI in collaboration with the Christian Blind Mission (CBM) International and with funding from BMZ Germany, is currently implementing a project titled “Promoting Inclusive Education and Vocational Training in Nigeria.”
As part of efforts to promote inclusive and safe vocational education, TCDI, in partnership with relevant education authorities, is facilitating a Training of Trainers (ToT) session to strengthen disability inclusion in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
This initiative targets selected teachers from vocational training centers and government stakeholders to improve their knowledge and skills in inclusive education practices. The training aims to promote equitable learning opportunities for learners with disabilities and to foster a more inclusive vocational education system.
The purpose of this consultancy is to engage qualified facilitators with expertise in disability inclusion to deliver five-day training for selected TVET teachers and government education officers.
Facilitators will lead sessions, provide technical guidance, and mentor participants to ensure effective knowledge transfer and promote inclusive education practices.
Reporting & Supervision:

The facilitator will report to the TCDI Program officer and coordinate closely with the CBM International counselor to ensure smooth delivery of the training.
Scope of Work & Primary Responsibilities
The Facilitator will be responsible for the following tasks:

Develop and finalize a comprehensive training agenda and session plans in consultation with TCDI.
Design and deliver training content on:

Principles of disability inclusion
Barriers to learning for persons with disabilities
Accessibility and reasonable accommodation
Inclusive teaching and learning strategies tailored to diverse learners
Disability awareness and attitudinal change
Digital competence and use of accessible teaching and learning materials
Identification of learners with special needs
Curriculum modification and inclusive classroom management
Utilize participatory training methodologies including lectures, case studies, group work, and role-play.
Coordinate with a CBM counsellor to provide online support during the training.
Facilitate reflection sessions to reinforce learning and application.
Support participants to develop individual action plans for implementing inclusive practices.
Submit a final training report including evaluations, recommendations, and participant feedback.
Specific Deliverables:
Facilitators are expected to provide the following:

Share training agenda and materials (PowerPoints, handouts, guides) – before the training date
Daily facilitation of sessions during the training30th June to 4th July 2025
Documentation of training activities, participant evaluations, and lessons learned.
Final training report submitted within 5 days of training completion.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Facilitators must meet the following criteria:

Advanced degree in Inclusive Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience delivering training on disability inclusion in education, particularly in TVET or similar contexts.
Strong understanding of inclusive pedagogy, accessibility standards, and reasonable accommodation.
Demonstrated experience using participatory and adult learning methodologies.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and build capacity of teachers and government stakeholders.
Familiarity with the local context in Yobe State or Northeast Nigeria is an added advantage.
Time frame for the Training:

The training sessions will take place within a five-day period in Yobe State.
Facilitators must be available for planning meeting briefings, training delivery, and post-training reporting.
Level of Effort and Remuneration

The facilitator will be paid N50,000 daily for the number of training days after successful completion of the training and submission of all the required deliverables, including a report.
The payment will be made within 2 weeks.
