It is a national organization that facilitates, advocates, and raises awareness for access to improved services among vulnerable individuals. It focuses on the areas of WASH, Protection/GBV, Empowerment/livelihood, Waste Management, Health/Nutrition, Climate Change and Peace Building. In pursuit of its mission, ZDF works with partners to execute programs aimed at improving the livelihood and living standards of vulnerable children, women and girls, men, widows, internally displaced persons, and persons living with disabilities

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Manager

Job Summary

  • We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to lead our operations and ensure the effective delivery of our strategic objectives. 
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing organization and shape impactful community-based programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead program planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate effective community engagement and stakeholder collaboration at the grassroots level.
  • Identify and drive fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
  • Supervise financial and administrative functions, promoting optimal resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases for internal use, reporting, and external communication.
  • Support the leadership team in long-term planning, risk management, and organizational development.
  • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Human Relations, Public Health, or other relevant disciplines. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in nonprofit administration, program management, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and team coordination.
  • Interest in areas such Peace Building, special education, or disability inclusion is highly desirable

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local language.
  • Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Experience in grant writing and donor communication.
  • Understanding of WASH frameworks and impact assessment.
  • Leadership capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application in development work.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate about working with marginalized communities and advancing child health and rights.
