Roadmap for Women and Youth Development (RAWYOD) is a youth-led independent development and humanitarian non-profit organization aimed to protect women, youth and children’s rights.

The project leverages the unifying power of football to promote education, strengthen social cohesion, and advance environmental protection among children and young people in Yobe State. Project activities include school-based FIFA Clubs, Play-to-Learn football sessions, teacher training, community awareness campaigns, the KAUNA Football Tournament, sanitation exercises, and the “My FIFA Tree” campaign. Position Summary The Project Officer will play a central role in coordinating and implementing project activities, ensuring that targets are achieved within set timelines and budgets. Working closely with the Protection Officer and the MEAL Officer, the Project Officer will serve as the operational backbone of the FOOT-SEED project—leading community engagement, supporting coaches and schools, managing logistics, and liaising with stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of FOOT-SEED project activities across Damaturu and Potiskum LGAs.
  • Work with school authorities, coaches, and community leaders to establish and manage FIFA Clubs.
  • Provide operational oversight for the Play-to-Learn football training sessions and KAUNA Football Tournament.
  • Organize quarterly community awareness sessions and monthly sanitation campaigns. • Facilitate the “My FIFA Tree” campaign and other environmental initiatives. • Collaborate with the Protection Officer to ensure safeguarding, GBV prevention, and child protection are mainstreamed in all activities.
  • Support the MEAL Officer in data collection, activity reporting, and documenting lessons learned. • Draft periodic project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Represent RAWYOD at LGA-level meetings and events, building strong relationships with partners, ministries, and community stakeholders. • Ensure effective use of project resources, compliance with donor requirements, and adherence to RAWYOD policies.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Director

Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, Environmental Sciences, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or coordination in the development or humanitarian sector. • Demonstrated experience in youth engagement, education, sports for development, or environmental initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation, community mobilization, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good understanding of protection, safeguarding, and gender equality principles. • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in Hausa/Kanuri is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Yobe State.
