Background

Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPI) is a non-governmental organization which has been engaged in developmental works in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States for the past 50 years. JDPI also focuses on Agriculture, WaSH, Nutrition, MHPSS and other emergency programming, reaching out to all persons on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality.

JDPI is inviting suitably qualified candidate for the above-mentioned position to work in Jere and Magumeri. Candidate must be prepared to start work as soon as possible.

Responsibilities of the Enumerator:

  • Participate in orientation sessions to understand assessments, surveys, and other project activities.
  • Collect accurate data using paper forms for FGD and KIIs and digital platforms like CommCare, RR Collect, on mobile tablets.
  • Enter both qualitative and quantitative data into Excel, Word, and CommCare online forms.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect participant privacy during all data collection activities.
  • Conduct field data collection for assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities such as On-Site Monitoring, Post- Distribution Monitoring, and Price Monitoring in Jere and Magumeri.
  • Synchronize data collection devices daily to ensure timely updates to the system.
  • Attend briefing sessions before fieldwork and debriefing sessions after returning from the field.
  • Always follow data protection policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
  • Report any field challenges or unexpected issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Handle all equipment and data collection devices with care to avoid damage or data loss.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma required (Advance qualification like National Diploma (ND) or bachelor’s degree is an added advantage)
  • Minimum 6 months’ work or volunteer experience, particularly in surveys and assessments of data collection and other related field activities.
  • Observation and active listening skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups (Kanuri, Hausa, Shuwa)
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented,
  • Good character and willingness to always learn,
  • Strong sensitivity and respect for local cultures,
  • Familiarity with project location.
