*Job Title: Education Officer*

*Role Purpose:*
The Education Officer will support, encourage, and monitor teachers to ensure children learn in a safe and protective environment. The officer will also provide technical support and training to teachers, School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) members, and other stakeholders to maintain standards and improve the quality of project activities.
*Scope of Role:*
The Education Officer will contribute to the preparation of progress and end-of-project reports, participate in quarterly follow-ups and progress review meetings, and address key performance issues. The officer will also work closely with the Education Programme Manager to resolve staffing issues.
*Key Areas of Accountability:*
1. Develop, implement, and monitor quarterly, monthly, and weekly activity plans to achieve expected results.
2. Ensure timely and quality implementation of planned activities, and address challenges promptly.
3. Lead the preparation of procurement and administrative documents required for programme implementation.
4. Work with teachers, community, and implementing partners to increase education service provision.
5. Lead planning and capacity-building training workshops for teachers and other education actors.
6. Disseminate information about education issues and available services to the community.
7. Contribute to proposal and strategy development through input on needs/gaps.
8. Hold meetings with stakeholders, including schools, local councils, and other organizations serving children and community.
9. Keep proper records of field expenditures and report on these to the Education Manager.
10. Ensure the Education programme is implemented in ways that are responsive to communities and children, in line with Save the Children’s principles, values, and strategic plan.

*Qualifications:*
1. Â with 3 years professional experience with education work, e.g., in NGO/INGO or as a professional teacher.
2. Experience in implementation of integrated programmes across different thematic areas, such as education, child protection, child rights governance, or disaster risk reduction.
*Experience and Skills:*
1. College qualification and minimum of three years professional experience with education work.
2. Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of children in school and community.
3. Strong understanding of the contextual situation related to education.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Proven technical knowledge and skills in participatory development, child participation, education.
6. Ability to travel independently, including to rural communities and work long hours.
7. Strong verbal and written English skills and in the local language.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
9. Strong reporting skills.
10. Good computer skills (MS Office, including Outlook for email).
11. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles, including rights-based approaches.
