The Frances Ellen Watkins Harper Fellowship—named after the “mother of African-American journalism”—offers yearlong, salaried fellowships with full benefits for recent graduates, mid-career professionals, and former students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Fellows will gain hands-on experience in reporting, audience engagement, and news product management, while receiving mentorship, career coaching, and professional development support. Perks include a $1,500 merit bonus, $1,000 professional development stipend, $960 wellness and work-from-home support, a Mac laptop, NABJ membership and more.
