NANA began in 2008 as a community-based initiative in Yauri Emirate to improve students’ academic performance by supporting teachers to provide extra lessons for those aspiring to higher education. In response to rising youth unemployment, NANA expanded its focus to provide financial support for youth and women to grow their businesses, later partnering with a registered microfinance bank for loan management. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2015, NANA has since broadened its operations to Birnin Kebbi and Sokoto states. The organization champions innovative and cost-effective interventions that empower women and girls, guided by values of integrity, equity, and justice. NANA’s strength lies in its deep local knowledge, understanding of gender dynamics, and strong partnerships with government, religious, and traditional institutions.
