Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, initially establishing its presence in Borno State with a field office in Maiduguri. Over the years, PUI has expanded its humanitarian response to deep-field locations, including Monguno and Pulka, and more recently to Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Livelihood Officer
Location: Monguno LGA, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
General Objective
- Under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Supervisor, the LIVELIHOOD Officer will support the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of livelihoods intervention targeting conflict-affected and vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Implementation and Monitoring of the Livelihood Activities:
- Implement the daily livelihood activities according to the LIVELIHOOD program direction
- Facilitate identification and registration of beneficiaries using inclusive and participatory approaches
- Conduct market assessments, value chain analysis, and labor market mapping as guided by the Livelihoods Supervisor
- Participate to all livelihood assessments
- Support beneficiaries and vendors during E voucher card distribution, cash disbursement and cash grant transfers
- Facilitate capacity building training, experience sharing visits and peer-to-peer income generating activities (IGAs) for livelihoods beneficiaries
- Support and follow up livelihoods beneficiaries’ progress towards start up new income generating activities (IGAs) or strengthening existing ones
- Support livelihoods beneficiaries to form/establish business groups (self-help or IGA groups)
- Lead training on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, life skills, and income generating activities tailored to the context
Coordination & Representation:
- Act as a liaison with the local population and authorities to identify the needs, grievances and major events that could have potential consequences for PUI
- Organize sensitizations for the beneficiaries or community’s members according to the identified needs
- Support linkage of beneficiaries to market actors, micro-finance institutions, or vocational centers.
Reporting & Monitoring:
- Report on the progress of specific tasks assigned, problems encountered, actions taken as well as the quality of relations with beneficiaries
- Submit the daily task and weekly situational report to his/her line manager on daily and weekly basis respectively
- Collect any relevant information from the communities and partners, and reports to his/her supervisor
- Collect, enter and compute simple analysis of the necessary LIVELIHOOD data when needed
- Contribute to the capitalization of best practices on LIVELIHOOD activities
Logistics & Administration:
- Support the logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation as directed by the supervisor
- Ensure the proper use of materials and tools during on-site works (phones and other devices)
- Manage the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with her/his Line Manager and Logistic Department.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2-5 years of experience.
Salary
N520,524 Monthly.
