. MEAL OFFICER – ZAMFARA STATE

Job Purpose
The MEAL Officer will ensure timely implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities and strengthen CFRM support across Gusau, Anka, and Maru LGAs in Zamfara State.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct surveys, assessments, monitoring, and evaluation of project activities related to WASH, NFIs, Shelter, and Protection.
  • Establish and manage data systems for programs, ensuring timely evaluation of objectives and impact.
  • Ensure accountability mechanisms are implemented and functional across projects.
  • Conduct data verification exercises and ensure quality data reporting.
  • Monitor project activities, expenditures, and progress toward achieving results.
  • Develop and strengthen monitoring and impact indicators for project success.
  • Provide feedback to Program Managers on project activities.
  • Organize training for staff on MEAL tools and practices.
  • Coordinate community participatory monitoring and reflective practices.
  • Support data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Develop data management plans, MEAL frameworks, and tools in line with donor regulations.
  • Conduct baseline and endline surveys, training sessions, and learning reviews.
  • Maintain reporting tools and data archiving systems.
  • Produce MEAL reports, learning documents, and after-action reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Management, Social Sciences, Demography, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of M&E in humanitarian contexts (Nutrition, Protection, WASH, Health).
  • Proficiency in English and Hausa.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Commitment to INTERSOS principles and confidentiality.

PROTECTION DATA MANAGEMENT OFFICER – ZAMFARA STATE

Job Purpose
The Protection Data Management Officer will work closely with the MEAL department to gather, analyze, and manage data from protection interventions. The goal is to enhance reporting accuracy, support evidence-based decision-making, and improve the quality of protection analysis and response.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular protection data analysis and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Consolidate and share monthly GBVIMS, CPIMS, and 5Ws reports.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection policies and data-sharing protocols.
  • Provide analytical insights and highlight protection gaps and trends.
  • Develop dashboards using visualization tools such as Power BI and Google Data Studio.
  • Support quality checks, data review, and field-level data collection processes.
  • Produce analytical and trend reports for protection assessments.
  • Contribute to proposal development and evidence-based advocacy.
  • Review monitoring tools and strengthen protection incident tracking.
  • Ensure proper storage and confidentiality of protection data.
  • Coordinate with M&E teams for standardization and tool development.
  • Support learning, lessons learned documentation, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in humanitarian protection activities with an INGO.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project reporting, data management, or analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (KOBO, Power BI, Google Data Studio).
  • Excellent reporting and writing skills.
  • Experience with information management systems is an advantage.

PROTECTION ASSISTANT – ZAMFARA STATE

Job Purpose
The Protection Assistant supports the integration of protection principles into health and nutrition programs to ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of vulnerable people. The role focuses on GBV/PSEA awareness, risk mitigation, and support for survivors.

Responsibilities

  • Support mainstreaming of protection across all project activities.
  • Integrate GBV and PSEA awareness into health and nutrition sessions.
  • Inform caregivers about GBV/PSEA consequences and reporting channels.
  • Conduct facility assessments to identify and address protection risks.
  • Ensure accessibility, confidentiality, and safety at service delivery points.
  • Provide care and support to GBV survivors, including coordination for case management and medical services.
  • Support access to psychosocial support, SRH services, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with protection and health teams to strengthen response mechanisms.
  • Participate in community awareness campaigns and protection promotion activities.
  • Adhere to INTERSOS protection standards and principles in all activities.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years of experience in protection, GBV case management, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of protection principles, GBV risk mitigation, and PSEA.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management.
  • Previous INTERSOS experience is an asset.
