About DHCBI
Damnaish Human Capacity Building Initiative (DHCBI) is committed to livelihoods development and human capacity building of vulnerable and less privileged populations, fostering resilience among communities affected by crisis—whether natural or human-induced.

We are currently recruiting qualified candidates for multiple positions under our programs in Konduga, Bama, and Maiduguri, Borno State.

1. Conflict and Peacebuilding Coordinator

  • Experience: 7 years
  • Location: Maiduguri (covering Konduga & Bama LGAs)
  • Duration: Oct – Dec 2025 (extension subject to performance)
  • Purpose: Lead peacebuilding initiatives, strengthen governance capacities, support conflict resolution, and ensure gender-responsive programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning and execution of social cohesion/peacebuilding initiatives.
  • Support governance institutions in conflict prevention and resolution.
  • Strengthen community feedback mechanisms.
  • Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and donor alignment.
  • Represent DHCBI at coordination platforms.
  • Train and mentor staff and community leaders in conflict resolution.
  • Produce high-quality reports and documentation.

2. Gender, Protection and AAP Officer

  • Experience: 2 years
  • Location: Konduga LGA
  • Duration: Oct – Dec 2025 (extension subject to performance)
  • Purpose: Lead protection monitoring, integrate gender and protection principles, ensure safe participation, and strengthen GBV referral pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct gender-sensitive protection monitoring and reporting.
  • Facilitate FGDs, identify protection trends, and ensure survivor-centred approaches.
  • Oversee inclusive community feedback mechanisms (CFM).
  • Mainstream gender in program design, data collection, and sensitization.
  • Strengthen GBV referral pathways and service mapping.
  • Document lessons learned and gender transformation stories.

3. Community Engagement and Outreach Assistant (x2)

  • Experience: 3 years
  • Location: Konduga LGA
  • Duration: Oct – Dec 2025 (extension subject to performance)
  • Purpose: Enhance community engagement, disseminate timely information, strengthen community structures, and support peacebuilding initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead outreach and sensitization activities.
  • Coordinate with peace clubs, committees, and local leaders.
  • Mentor community structures and rapid response committees.
  • Support service referrals and follow-up.
  • Promote behavioural change communication (BCC).
  • Document outreach activities and success stories.

4. EMAP Officer

  • Experience: 2 years
  • Location: Konduga LGA
  • Duration: Oct – Dec 2025 (extension subject to performance)
  • Purpose: Implement Engaging Men through Accountable Practice (EMAP) to prevent GBV and promote gender equality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate EMAP sessions with men and women.
  • Promote positive masculinity and gender equality.
  • Support EMAP integration into peacebuilding activities.
  • Organize sensitization campaigns and cultural events.
  • Track behavioural changes and contribute to monitoring.

5. Community Feedback & Accountability Assistants (x10)

  • Experience: 3 years
  • Location: Konduga LGA
  • Duration: Oct – Dec 2025 (extension subject to performance)
  • Purpose: Manage complaints and feedback mechanisms to ensure accountability to affected populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, document, and manage community complaints (via MODA/SUGAR CRM).
  • Ensure confidentiality and protection of sensitive information.
  • Maintain and analyse CFM data to inform programming.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on accountability and feedback rights.
  • Support referrals to relevant services and follow up on cases.
  • Produce analytical reports on trends and community concerns.

General Requirements (All Roles)

  • Commitment to humanitarian principles: humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.
  • Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri (English proficiency is an added advantage).
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and reporting skills.
  • Respect for safeguarding, protection, and PSEA standards.
