Application for Recruitment Exercise into the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School Batch 38
How to apply
– Apply online FREE OF CHARGE at: https://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng
– Only one valid application is permitted. Multiple online applications will lead to disqualification.
– After completing the online application, print the following documents:
– Acknowledgement Form
– Parent/Guardian Consent Form
– Local Government Attestation Form (to be signed by a military officer of rank Commander in the NN, or equivalent in the AFN, or the Local Government Chairman)
– Guarantor’s Certification Form
Attestation requirements
– The Attestation Form must include the applicant’s passport photograph and a photocopy of the signee’s Driver’s Licence, International Passport, or National ID Card.
– The signee must authenticate (sign) the applicant’s passport photograph.
Basic eligibility
– Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess a National Identification Number (NIN).
– Males: minimum height 1.68 m; Females: minimum height 1.65 m.
– Must be medically, psychologically and physically fit.
– No previous criminal convictions by a court of law.
– Proficiency in English is mandatory; inability to communicate in basic English will cause disqualification at any stage.
Age and qualification requirements (as at 31 December 2025)
– O’Level/SSCE applicants: 18–22 years. Must have a minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English) in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB. Results must not be older than 2019.
– OND/NCE applicants: 18–26 years. Must have a minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English) in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB. Results must not be older than 2015.
– Chaplain/Imam Assistant, Drivers, Mechanics: 18–28 years. Must meet the 5-credit requirement as above (results not older than 2015).
Tradesmen (specific requirements)
– Tradesmen applying for the following categories must possess Trade Test certificates, a credit in English Language, and at least 4 other passes in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB (results not older than 2015):
– Tailoring
– Carpentry
– Plumbing
– Masonry
– Welding
– Electrical Work
– Painting
– Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology
Other role-specific requirements
– Professions allied to medicine: Must possess an ND from a recognized Nigerian training institution and a valid practicing license.
– Sportsmen/women: Must present evidence of sporting experience (certificates, medals, etc.).
Important dates
– Online registration: 2 October 2025 to 31 October 2025.
– Recruitment Examination: 29 November 2025 at designated centres nationwide.
General notes
– Nigerian Navy online registration and all recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE. No payment should be made to anyone at any point.
– Successful applicants will undergo basic military training; on completion they will be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
