APARC/WCRP training school on “AI for Climate and Weather Forecast”
From 24 to 28 November, the WCRP APARC will sponsor a five-day training school on ‘AI for Climate and Weather Forecasting’ at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal.
The training school has been organised by the APARC Outreach Panel in collaboration with Cheikh Anta Diop University. It is intended for early- and mid-career scientists (i.e. BSc, MSc and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral fellows) from around the world, as well as local students and researchers. Participation is limited to 30 people, and applications from early- and mid-career scientists (EMCS) in the Global South are particularly encouraged. We are also exploring the possibility of online participation.
Participation in the training school is free of charge. Coffee breaks, lunches and accommodation (only for non-local participants) are included. Financial assistance is available to help cover the cost of flight changes for a limited number of ECS participants.
Please refer to the preliminary programme on the website for more information.
The deadline for applications is 15 October 2025. To apply, please email Mohamadou A. Diallo at Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany (ai4climateandweather@gmail.com). In your application, please provide information about your background, university and country of origin, and explain how you think the training school will benefit your current or future projects.
