We deliver inclusive, rights-based, and climate-responsive interventions in WASH, Nutrition, Education, Food Security & Livelihoods, Protection, and Climate Change resilience, working across the Humanitarian–Development–Peace Nexus.

Job Title: Program Manager & Nutrition officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)
Role Overview
- The Program Manager (Volunteer) will provide leadership in the planning, coordination, and implementation of DAF’s programs.
- The role involves supporting project design, ensuring quality delivery, strengthening monitoring and evaluation, and fostering collaboration with partners, communities, and donors.
- This is a strategic position suitable for an individual passionate about humanitarian and development work, seeking to make tangible impact while gaining hands-on experience in program management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of projects across DAF’s thematic areas.
- Support proposal development, grant writing, and donor reporting.
- Ensure program quality and accountability to affected populations (AAP).
- Supervise and guide program staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.
- Liaise with government, NGOs, clusters, and other partners to enhance collaboration.
- Ensure mainstreaming of protection, gender equity, and climate responsiveness in all programs.
- Prepare timely reports (narrative and financial) for management and stakeholders.
- Support resource mobilization efforts, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
- Represent DAF in relevant meetings, workshops, and forums.
Requirements
- Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or related fields (Master’s an advantage).
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Strong knowledge of project cycle management (PCM), proposal writing, and donor compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Passionate about humanitarian service and volunteerism.
