The Lake Chad Peace and Development Initiative (LCPD) is a nationally registered civil society organization committed to enhancing equitable access to quality basic services for vulnerable communities in Northern Nigeria and the Lake Chad Region. Established in 2014, LCPD has a strong focus on women, children, adolescents, and youth, working in areas such as Education, Child Protection, GBV prevention and Response, Livelihoods, Nutrition, Governance, and WASH.

LCPD is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced MEAL Officer to join our team in Nguru, Yobe State. If you are passionate about data-driven decision-making and have a proven track record in monitoring and evaluating development projects, we encourage you to apply.

Role Overview:

•  Job Title: MEAL Officer

•  Job Type: Full-Time (Contract Duration: 6 months – with possibility of extension)

•  Qualification: HND/Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Demographics, Public Policy, International Development, or its equivalent.

•  Experience: Minimum of 3 years

•  Estimated Start Date: Immediately

•  Reports to: MEAL Manager

•  Duty Station: Nguru – Yobe State (with frequent travels to project sites in Karasuwa, and Machina LGAs, Yobe State).

Job Summary:

The MEAL Officer is responsible for coordinating, field-level monitoring, evaluating, and reporting activities of the project results framework. The MEAL Officer also supports the development and management of the Results Monitoring Plan (RMP) under the supervision and guidance of the MEAL Manager.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Assists in leading the project team in the development and implementation of MEAL frameworks and oversees routine program monitoring activities (data collection, dataflow management, data management, and results reporting).

•  Ensure the quality and relevance of the project’s monitoring and evaluation design.

•  Provide technical support for the conduct of Research, Assessments, and reporting performance evaluation process.

•  Ensure that accurate and reliable data is collected throughout the implementation program.

•  Document results of the Project and produce periodic reports required by donor agencies.

•  Conduct program monitoring and evaluation tasks, including the implementation of MEAL systems.

•  Provide technical support to state partners and enumerators to strengthen the monitoring system and track project deliverables.

•  Conduct project-related data analysis and visualization

•  Coordinate the field-level community participatory monitoring and evaluation, reflective practice, and impact measurement.

•  Comply with all relevant HRM requirements and perform any other tasks as may be assigned by your supervisor in line with the core values, missions, visions, and objectives of the organization/donor’s requirements.

MINIMUM SKILLS/ABILITIES NEEDED:

•  Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating project MEAL systems throughout a project’s Cycle.

•  Minimum of 3 years of direct implementation experience in the Monitoring and Evaluation Role.

•  Experience in Nutrition and Health programming in Northeast Nigeria is desirable

•  Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator tracking, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/performance monitoring plans.

•  Strong awareness of Humanitarian Principles, Data Protection, and PSHEA Guidelines

•  Strong sensitivity and respect for local traditions, customs, and cultures in the context of the project locations.

•  Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, SPSS, STATA, or Kobo/ODK.

•  Experience in managing humanitarian nutrition projects, including planning, coordination, and monitoring.

•  Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Hausa Languages.
