Main Objective:
Provide psychological support to patients, adhering to Médecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) principles, to improve their mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual/group therapeutic sessions for SGBV survivors, survivors of ill-treatment/torture, and other vulnerable populations in Anka NEP clinic, ensuring tailored treatment plans and follow-up.
- Offer unconditional psychosocial support, respecting patients’ rights, needs, and wishes.
- Diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, provide psychotherapy, and facilitate referrals for acute mental health emergencies.
- Collaborate with Health Promotion and medical teams to raise community awareness about SGBV, health consequences, and access to care.
- Conduct focus group discussions with community members and provide HIV counseling when needed.
- Participate in training staff, developing mental health education materials, and advocacy strategies.
- Ensure accurate reporting, data confidentiality, and compliance with MSF policies and SOPs.
- Attend departmental meetings, clinical supervision, and project updates, and take on additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Essential degree or diploma in Clinical Psychology.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a psychologist; desirable experience with MSF or NGOs in developing countries.
- Languages: Mission language (English) essential; local language desirable.
- Knowledge: Desirable computer literacy (Word, Excel, internet).
- Competencies: Results orientation, teamwork, behavioral flexibility, commitment to MSF principles, stress management.
