Save the Children is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Field Assistants (Volunteers) in Damaturu LGA, Yobe State. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our mission of improving the lives of children in crisis and ensuring their rights are realized.
Position: Field Assistants (Volunteers)
Location: Damaturu LGA, Yobe State (Specific communities listed below)
Role Summary:
The Field Assistants will support the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) department in data-related activities, contributing to the effectiveness of our programs and ensuring community feedback is incorporated into our work.
Key Areas of Accountability:
• Gathering and responding to community feedback.
• Supporting Community Participation Assessment (CPA) and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities.
• Providing support to the SDC (Specific Program – please specify if known) program team during program activities.
• Supporting distribution and assessments.
• Filing and documentation of community feedback.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
Essential:
• SSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate), Diploma, HND (Higher National Diploma), or NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) in any relevant field.
• NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) certificate.
• Previous experience in field data collection or similar roles in humanitarian or development projects.
• Familiarity with data collection tools such as Kobo Collect and CommCare.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact respectfully and effectively with community members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to communicate in English, Hausa, and other relevant local languages in the area.
• Must be an indigene of Yobe State and a resident of the community applying for.
