Agence Française de Développement Announces €4 Million Funding for Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence Initiatives
The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has launched a new €4 million funding opportunity to address the growing threat of Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) in Africa and the Middle East. This initiative aims to provide critical technical support, capacity-building resources, and opportunities to scale and amplify community-driven solutions.
Program Focus Areas:
The funding will support projects focused on:
• Capacity Strengthening: Enhancing the skills and knowledge of organizations working to combat TFGBV.
• Advocacy & Policy Change: Promoting policy reforms and creating a more supportive legal framework to address TFGBV.
• Creation of Safe Digital Environments: Developing and implementing strategies to create safer online spaces for women and girls.
• Feminist Tech and Innovation: Supporting innovative technological solutions that address TFGBV and promote gender equality.
Project Duration:
Projects are expected to have a duration of 3-4 years.
Geographic Scope:
Consortiums applying for funding must cover a minimum of four countries within the following regions: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, DRC, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
