UNFPA WCARO: Internship Opportunity – Youth, Peace and Security (Dakar, Senegal)

The UNFPA West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO) is seeking a passionate and dynamic intern to support our work on the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda. This 6-month internship, based in Dakar, Senegal, offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research, project support, advocacy, and interagency coordination.

About the Role:

As a Youth, Peace and Security Intern, you will contribute to UNFPA’s mission of ensuring young people’s meaningful participation in peace processes and advancing UNSCR 2250. You will have the chance to work on impactful projects and gain valuable experience in the field of youth empowerment and peacebuilding.

Responsibilities: (Specific responsibilities would be detailed in the full job description.)

•  Assist with research on youth, peace, and security issues.

•  Support project implementation and monitoring.

•  Contribute to advocacy and awareness-raising efforts.

•  Participate in interagency coordination meetings.

•  Passion for youth empowerment and peacebuilding.

•  Strong research and writing skills.

•  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
