AfricTivistes Announces the African Election Civic Tech Fund: Empowering Citizen Participation in Africa
AfricTivistes is proud to announce the launch of the African Election Civic Tech Fund, an initiative designed to support, encourage, and promote innovative projects that strengthen citizen participation, transparency, and the integrity of electoral processes across the African continent. This fund aims to empower civil society organizations and individuals to leverage technology for positive change.
Focus Areas:
The fund will prioritize projects in the following key areas:
• Citizen electoral technologies
• Citizen engagement and the electoral process
• Media and information
• The legal framework surrounding elections
Funding Details:
• Total Funding: Up to €175,000 will be awarded.
• Major Projects: Four to six major projects will receive funding ranging from €10,000 to €25,000 each.
• Micro-Grants: Micro-grants will be available for organizations working in the four key focus areas.
Eligibility and Priorities:
AfricTivistes encourages applications from organizations and individuals in the following countries: Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Chad, Cameroon, Mauritania, Niger, Mali, Togo, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Sudan. Priority will be given to groups led by women, start-ups, associations, and youth-led organizations.
Language: Applications are accepted in English or French.

The deadline for submitting applications is July 10, 2025.
