Federal Government Launches Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) to Boost Nigeria’s Creative Sector

The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy (FMACTCE) is pleased to announce the launch of the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF), a landmark initiative approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to catalyze growth, innovation, and sustainable financing for Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries.

This initiative represents a significant national investment in the creative sector, recognizing its potential as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, economic diversification, and cultural diplomacy, positioning Nigeria as a global force in the creative economy.

The CEDF will support sectors such as film, fashion, writing, digital media, gaming, and cultural tourism by enabling them to scale operations and attract global opportunities. The fund targets key players and service providers across the value chain, aiming to catalyze a ripple effect of development that boosts employment, supports youth enterprise, and strengthens Nigeria’s global cultural footprint.

Funding Phases:

•  Phase 1: Open now until June 30, 2025, targeting businesses seeking a minimum of $100,000. Apply Here

•  Phase 2: Scheduled to open on August 4, 2025, designed for MSMEs and SMEs in need of smaller funding.

This initiative is not just a financial intervention but a deliberate strategy to stimulate economic growth and open new frontiers for Nigerian creatives.
