Job Title: GBV / SRH Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
The SRH/GBV Officer will provide integrated technical oversight for Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activities across MDM’s areas of implementation.
This role ensures the delivery of high-quality SRH services, including care for GBV survivors, while adhering to national and international guidelines.
The officer will supervise midwives, strengthen referral pathways, and foster collaboration with stakeholders to enhance service integration.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support and Service Integration:
Conduct regular field supervision in clinics and supported health facilities to ensure quality SRH services (ANC, PNC, FP) and GBV survivor care, including case management, Clinical Management of Rape (CMR) protocols.
Ensure adherence to MDM’s SRH/GBV guidelines, national protocols, and global standards (e.g., Survivor- centred case management, MISP for SRH in crises, WHO guidelines).
Strengthen integrated SRH/GBV referral pathways for obstetric emergencies, GBV cases, and psychosocial support.
Collaborate with the Technical Advisor and MHPSS team to ensure holistic care for survivors.
Clinical Protocols and Quality Assurance:
Monitor compliance with SRH protocols (e.g.,GBV, ANC, PNC, FP) and GBV protocols (e.g., CMR, confidentiality, IPC standards).
Identify gaps in service delivery and propose corrective actions.
Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality are maintained across all services.
Oversee the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures in SRH/GBV service delivery.
Capacity Building and Training:
Train and mentor midwives, health workers, and MDM staff on SRH/GBV topics, including ethical care, CMR, and rights-based approaches.
Develop and deliver capacity-building plans for MDM and Ministry of Health (MoH) staff to strengthen integrated SRH-GBV services.
Facilitate workshops on antibiotic resistance mitigation, risk management, and quality prescription practices.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting:
Conduct field visits to monitor SRH/GBV activities, analyze data trends, and track progress against project objectives.
Compile and submit monthly reports on SRH/GBV service indicators, challenges, and recommendations to the Program Manager and SRH/GBV TA.
Contribute to donor reporting by providing accurate data on SRH/GBV outcomes and interventions.
Reporting and Communications:
Represent MDM in SRH/GBV sub-sector meetings, inter-agency forums, and coordination groups (e.g., UN agencies, NGOs).
Maintain partnerships with local authorities, community leaders, and health facilities to enhance service accessibility.
Collaborate with UNICEF and other partners on nutrition and SRH/GBV integration efforts.
Hierarchical and Functional links:
Under the direct supervision of Program Manager, and in collaboration with the Field Coordinator.
With technical links to the SRH/GBV Technical Advisor and the medical coordinator.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery, Nursing, Public Health, or related field. Certification in GBV, SRH, or humanitarian response is a plus.
Minimum 3 years in SRH/GBV program implementation, preferably in humanitarian settings.
Proficiency in SRH/GBV protocols (e.g., Survivor-centered- case management, MISP, CMR).
Strong knowledge of Nigerian health systems and GBV referral mechanisms.

Salary
N500,000 – N750,000 / month.
