UNIC Manama is responsible for promoting greater public understanding of and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by disseminating information on the work of the Organization to people in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
With this assignment, the volunteer will assist us in engaging our target audiences by delivering pertinent messages about the UN’s work in the region, advancing UN priorities, and adapting global UN campaigns to the local context. The Online Volunteers will use our publications and other resources to craft and curate interesting content for our social media channels, which include Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
Through UNV, UNIC Manama is looking for two online volunteers to support content creation and management of social media accounts of the UN Information Center in Manama, which covers the Gulf countries, on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, Candidates will support in the following: – Reading and analyzing internal resources (research and policy papers, toolkits, etc.) ; – Supporting the development of monthly/ weekly social media plans based on the inputs and instructions of the manager – Curating relevant content for an average of two-three posts a day tailored to the different social media platforms – developing and implementing measurable social media content and activity – creating digital adverts.
Experience: The online volunteers should have experience in digital marketing and communications, experience using Content Management Systems, excellent communication and strong copywriting skills, strong organizational and planning skills. A degree in journalism, communications, humanities, or a related field is considered an asset.
