Taimaka Project: Field Research Program Officer (Gombe, Nigeria)
The Taimaka Project, a cost-effective nonprofit focused on pediatric malnutrition treatment, seeks a Field Research Program Officer to join our team in Gombe, Nigeria. This is a full-time, 12-month contract (May 2025 – April 2026) with potential for extension.
Location: Gombe, Nigeria, with frequent field visits to surrounding outpatient nutrition clinics.
Reports to: Field Research Associate
Salary: NGN 250,000-300,000 per month (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications:
• University degree
• Advanced proficiency in English
• At least 3 years of experience implementing house-to-house data collection for evaluations, surveys, or research in community health or a similar discipline.
About the Taimaka Project:
The Taimaka Project implements a modified form of community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) to treat children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in Gombe State, Nigeria. This role will support our field research team’s data collection efforts for cost-effectiveness analyses.
Field Research Program Officer Terms of Reference:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prior to study data collection:
• Learn the survey protocols and make recommendations.
• Support the revision, translation, and testing of a digital (ODK) household questionnaire.
• Train 10-15 enumerators on survey protocols and procedures.
• Manage the standardization test and pilot testing.
• Facilitate local regulatory processes, community mobilization, and general awareness.
During study data collection:
• Regularly visit field sites to supervise data collection teams.
• Conduct regular audits of field activities and digital data.
• Develop and communicate schedules, transportation plans, and survey protocols.
• Conduct administrative tasks, assist in logistical procurement, and organize transportation.
