Background
From Margins To Mainstream: Empowering Societies for Increased Women’s Political Participation in Nigeria
Women Environment and Youth Development Initiative (WOYODEV) is implementing the FmTm-From Margins To Mainstream: Empowering Societies for Increased Women’s Political Participation in Nigeria project with funding support from UN-Women International in partnership with European Union under the WYDE (Women and Youth Democratic Engagement) initiative. WOYODEV implementation of the project in is focused in three (3) states of Nigeria; Kwara, Enugu and Lagos State.
The overall objective of FmTm: Empowering Societies for Increased Women’s Political Participation in Nigeria is to accelerate a socio-cultural shift from norms that limit participation of women in active politics to positive democratic values that empower women for active political participation in Nigeria by 2027. With key objective, to promote strong feminist coalitions and movements that cut across Nigeria that pushes immense support and activism for women to actively participate in politics and push closer towards the affirmative action in the 2027 national elections, foster sustainable local partnerships that will promote change of social norms in the bid of addressing unequal power relations, gender-discrimination and other unfavourable practices against women and girls in Nigeria and promote legal and favourable environments where female political aspirants to compete and mobilize themselves mentally, intellectually and financially to contest and win elections in the 2027 general elections. This is in alignment with the UN Women’s WYDE (Women and Youth Democratic Engagement) initiative, a collaborative global effort funded by the European Union, which aim to advance women’s political participation and decision-making, particularly for those most marginalized, through supporting civil society and women’s rights organization to promote women’s full and effective political participation and decision-making at all levels with focus specifically targeting those most often left behind, including young women and women from marginalized communities.
It is against this backdrop that WOYODEV is seeking applications from qualified persons to serve as consultants to support the fulfilment of the project objectives.

Scope of Work
The Consultant will be responsible for providing technical and strategic support across three key areas:
Develop Capacity Building tools and training modules for CSOs, PWDs and critical stakeholders. Design engagement and mentorship packages for aspiring and existing women leaders. Develop or revise training curricula in line with local context and global agenda on women participation in politics.
Knowledge Building and Advocacy: Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and best practices; create knowledge products; support advocacy strategies promoting women’s rights and political representation.
Develop effective communication strategies, media engagements plans, audio-visuals and key campaign tools to promote women’s political participation and leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of a a degree in Political Science, Sociology, Law and any other related field.
• Must have the ability to work with WOYODEV team to achieve desired results.
• Candidates should be conversant with the project areas-Kwara, Enugu and Lagos State. (specifically States that they choose to consult in).
• Should have a strong understanding of government policies and schemes.
