Admission into Enterprise for Youths in Agriculture (#EYiA)
1. Anyone can get admission if you qualify, but not everyone
2. The algorithm gives everyone an opportunity. Hence, in the last quarter, we had 31 states in Nigeria represented. We have had non-Nigerians apply!
3. The algorithm picks from various lines such as degree holders, no education, corp members, interns, etc.
4. We work with stakeholders to give bulk admissions, eg, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ekiti, Abuja, Niger, Benue, Edo, Ogun, etc. We give social bodies, etc
5. We have specially reserved slots the algorithm must follow: 70% female, 5% PWDs, 5% IDPs, 5% host community.
If you did not get in, you do not need to reapply. It will be considered for future admission.
#EYiA is not heaven. There is no need to send melodramatic messages of “if I do not get admission, my life is finished, or it proves I’m not loved,” etc. It is just an algorithm at work. There are many other training options available.
#EYiA offer:
1. Free training
2. Free accommodation
3. Monthly stipends
4. Graduate mentorship
To apply for future batches:
July to September
October to December

#EYiA, we have our mantra
1. In agriculture, we do not blow. We grow
2. As farmers, we do not stop when we are tired. We stop when we are done.
3. In life, you can force a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink water; in #EYiA, you were not forced to #EYiA, but when you get in, you either take in knowledge or drown in knowledge.
Top questions:
1. Why 70%+ females?
They have been marginalized, and it is an intentional strategy for inclusion to help in access to land and finance
2. Why cut the age for males at 29?
Agriculture takes time, and there is a burden that comes with age. You need a minimum of 5 years to get the foundation right. Secondly, we have a shared living space!
3. Why don’t you accept women with babies or toddlers?
Our facility can not house them at the moment, but we hope to be able to in the future.
