Job Summary:
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Nutrition Assistant in our Sokoto NOMA and Emergency Response Project. The successful candidate will participate in the nutritional case management of children suffering from acute malnutrition according to MSF nutritional and hygiene protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
– Participate in the nutritional case management of children suffering from acute malnutrition
– Carry out basic health care and hygiene procedures
– Inform caretakers on the functioning of the center and provide hygienic training and sanitation education
– Monitor and report weight and other vital indicators of each patient
– Prepare ORS and supervise drinking water availability in the ward
– Maintain clean premises and materials and perform minor maintenance and cleaning of biomedical equipment
Requirements:
– Literacy and sound knowledge of nutrition protocols
– Desirable working experience of two years in similar jobs
– Mission language (English) and local language (Hausa and Fulani) essential
– Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet)
– Competencies: Results and Quality Orientation, Teamwork and Cooperation, Behavioral Flexibility, Commitment to MSF Principles, and Stress Management
