YandyTech Community Global Internship Programme
We are YandyTech Community, a youth-led social impact organisation dedicated to fostering innovation, creativity, and positive social change through technology in Nigeria and beyond. Our vision is a world where technology is accessible to all. Our mission is to empower young people and grassroots communities to leverage technology for sustainable development, employability, and inclusive growth.
Our impactful projects address various social issues related to civic technology initiatives, youth employability, empowerment & engagement, community mobilisation, and climate action initiatives. We are looking for curious, adaptable self-starters to join us for a six-month remote internship programme. This internship provides a unique opportunity for young individuals to gain practical experience at the intersection of technology and social development. Participants will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic social impact organisation, gaining exposure to various projects that create lasting change in communities.
Programme Benefits

Note: Though this is an unpaid internship program, there are some cases where interns will be compensated based on donor-funded projects available and/or associated with them.
Duration
This remote internship programme will run for six months. Participants must have access to a laptop and internet connection to take part in the programme. Weekly engagements and collaborations will take place using remote working tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, and WhatsApp.
Work Schedule
The YandyTech Community team is based in Nigeria, West Africa (GMT+1 time zone).
Candidates must demonstrate flexibility to work within the team’s working hours.
Internship Positions Available
Frontend Developer Intern (1)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain YandyTech’s web applications.
Collaborate with the design team to create user-friendly interfaces.
Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading software.
Stay updated with emerging front-end technologies and best practices.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Completion of assigned development tasks within deadlines.
User feedback on interface usability.
Documentation of code and processes.
Participation in team meetings and code reviews.
Social Media and Content Creation Intern (2)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage YandyTech’s social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
Create engaging content, including blog posts, newsletters, graphics, short videos, and infographics.
Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement, followers, and visibility.
Monitor social media trends and suggest improvements.
Engage with the community through comments, messages, and posts.
Track and analyse social media performance metrics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Increase in social media engagement rates.
Number of content created and published.
Growth in follower count across platforms.
Timely response to community interactions.
Social media performance reports submitted.
Grant and Resource Mobilisation Intern (1)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Research potential grant opportunities and funding sources inline with the organisation’s thematic focus.
Assist in writing grant proposals and funding applications.
Maintain a database of funding opportunities, status and deadlines.
Build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Develop fundraising campaigns and strategies.
Track and report on the progress of grant applications and fundraising efforts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of grant proposals submitted.
Success rate of grant applications.
Number of new funding sources identified.
Database accuracy and maintenance.
Reports on fundraising progress.
Research Intern (1)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct research on the organisation’s thematic focus trends and their applications in social impact.
Support the development of research reports, white papers, and policy briefs.
Analyse data and provide actionable insights for YandyTech projects.
Assist in designing and conducting surveys and interviews.
Keep up-to-date with relevant literature and academic publications.
Present research findings to the team and stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of research reports and briefs produced.
Accuracy and relevance of research findings.
Timeliness of research deliverables.
Engagement in team presentations and discussions.
Contribution to project-specific research tasks.
Requirements
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Proven passion for social impact start-ups, technology, or social investments.
Demonstrated leadership experience in academics, volunteer work, or extracurricular activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
