COMMONWEALTH MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS 2027/28

Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships for the 2027/28 academic year.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK provides scholarships under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan to support talented individuals from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries to pursue full-time taught Master’s study at a UK university.

The scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and are designed for talented and motivated candidates who would otherwise be unable to afford postgraduate study in the United Kingdom.

ELIGIBLE BENEFICIARIES

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are intended for candidates from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries.

Successful scholars will undertake full-time taught Master’s study at a UK university beginning in September or October 2027.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

Applications for the 2027/28 academic year are submitted through CSC Central.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission does not accept applications or supporting documents submitted outside CSC Central.

Applicants must also apply to a participating nominator. There are two types of nominators:

  1. National nominating agencies, which provide the main application route
  2. Selected non-governmental organisations and charitable bodies

Applicants should note that the CSC does not accept direct applications for these scholarships.

Each nominator manages its own selection process and may have additional eligibility requirements or an earlier deadline. Applicants should therefore check the requirements and deadlines of their chosen nominator.

Nominators are expected to submit their selected candidates to the CSC by December 2026.
