Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.
FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind

Position – GBV Project Assistant
Education University education or equivalent in Administration and Social science, or related fields.
Previous experience in Humanitarian Mine action
Experience: Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based EORE activities or similar

Requirement and duties
- At least 2 years’ experience in protection work supervisory responsibilities over national staff, program development, planning and implementation.
- Must have in-depth technical expertise on Protection, Women and Girls’ safe spaces programming and Gender Based Violence related issues including having a clear understanding of gender inequality, and issues surrounding discrimination and violence against women and girls
- Must have experience with operationalizing GBV principles.
- Proficient in community mobilization, challenging social norms/relations and Behavior Change Communication.
- Proven record of providing trainings and workshops on gender and GBV, SRH, topics in a variety of settings.
- Excellent Analytical, Communication and Report writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with local staff, beneficiaries, duty bearers and other stakeholders
- Disciplined, organized, respect for deadlines, adaptation in a multicultural working environment.
- Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based EORE activities or similar
- Previous experience in data reporting and/or using participatory techniques to gather information in at-risk communities.
- Relevant experience in community-based facilitation and community mobilization.
- Experience of developing good relationships with people and working in a participatory manner with groups of different ages, statuses, and background.
- Previous experience living and working in a cross-cultural, multi-sector team environment in Northeast Nigeria
- Experience working with rural communities from a variety of different ethnic groups.
Desirable skills:
- A demonstrated ability to multi task and process information into action in a timely manner
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Kanuri or Hausa.
- Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and maintaining effective communication with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
- Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage and captivate an audience.
- IT Skills: in regards to the report writing
- Organizational Competence: Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Performance measures:
- The GBV Assistant will provide day to day management of GBV prevention related activities in Borno
- The holder of the position will work under the overall supervision of the GBV Project Officer.
- The GBV Assistant, will coordinate, manage & supervise the direct implementation of community based GBV Prevention and Women & Girls Safe Spaces activities.
- S/he will work with a team of GBV community volunteers, GBV case worker and PSS staff.
