Apply Now: Powering Healthcare Innovation Fund
While substantial progress has been made in health facility electrification in recent times, challenges persist, particularly in regions with weak infrastructure and limited financial resources.
The business-as-usual approach is proving inadequate and out of date. The sector is lagging behind in the adoption of new ideas and innovations that can help it scale and become more sustainable.
The Powering Healthcare Innovation Fund is a small-grants facility aimed at unlocking such opportunities and ideas, and growing innovation in the sector. The fund is backed by the UK Aid-supported Transforming Energy Access Initiative (TEA).
TEA will offer a Technical Assistance Facility that will be delivered by EED Advisory, to a certain number of prospective applicants to enhance their grant application skills.
The overall objective is to drive innovation in how healthcare facilities are electrified.
The fund will support the development of potentially catalytic innovations that can accelerate access to electricity in health facilities. The Innovation Fund offers small grants in the range of USD 50,000 to 100,000 each to innovative, out-of-the-box solutions in one of the following fields:
- Data (e.g. how to collect and analyse better data)
- Technology (e.g. piloting energy-efficient appliances)
- Delivery (e.g. fostering intersectoral partnerships or piloting innovative business / financial models)
If you are a small- or medium-sized organization with experience carrying out similar work and with an innovative idea that is scalable, replicable and can have significant impact, apply here. Last date to apply is 7 July 2024. Read more about the terms and conditions of the grant and how to apply, by downloading the guidelines for applicants, available in English and French.
