We are inviting youth aged 18 to 30 years old to participate as CYMG representative to the Regional Stakeholders Consultative Workshop on Critical Energy Transition Minerals (Green Minerals) and the Africa Mining Vision (AMV) that will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 7 to 8 November 2024. Travel support will be available for selected nominated youth from CYMG, thanks to the support from UNEP.
The conference is open for in-person participation in Nairobi, Kenya and virtual participation for the nominated African CYMG Members. For those who already based in Nairobi and interested to join the Conference in-person in self-funded capacity, you are welcome to apply and indicate appropriately in the application form.
The purpose of this workshop is to review the African Mining Vision Action Plan, African Mineral Governance Framework and African Green Mineral strategy focusing on environmental and social aspects while taking into consideration and aligning with Multilateral Environmental Agreements, outcomes of UNEA resolutions on minerals and metals, current global sustainability goals (SDG 2030) the African Union Agenda 2063 climate agenda as well as the UN Secretary General principles on critical energy transition minerals.
